Origin + History

Goji (go-jee) berries are found in very remote parts of China and Tibet - mainly in the harsh climate of the Himalayas. Goji berries have been used in traditional Chinese medicine for over 3,000 years to help support such things as healthy immune function, healthy moods, libido, energy levels, resistance to fatigue and is most commonly known as an anti-aging "super" food.

The Goji berry was declared to be a superior food as early as the first century A.D. when it was extolled in the Divine Farmer's Handbook of Natural Medicine (Shen Nong Ben Cao), perhaps the most important text in the the history of Chinese medicine.

The people of North Western and Central China love and cherish the Goji berry so much that they devote two weeks every year to festivals in it's honor (similar to a Bavarian Oktoberfest...only much healthier, and just as happy!).
